Hack(ish): Play PS2 backups on your PS3

Pizzag clams that around US$ 5 was spent, and that the process that he went through was quite easy for him. Of course, in this case "easy" means breaking open your PS3, voiding whatever warranty you've got with Sony.

FW 2.0 release notes fake? Sony denies FW update for PS3?

Strange. We're not really sure how to take this bit of info, but it seems as if yesterday's "Sneak Peek" of the PS3's FW 2.0 changelog was nothing but a rumor after all. Or is it? The news comes from EuroGamer, who says that Sony's been all hush-hush about the leaked notes that've been doing rounds over online forums and sites.

T3CH has his own site.

We all love XBMC (well the people that know about it love it).T3CH has been compiling binary releases for long while now and we used to have to look for them in a lot of different places around the web which was frustrating at times.
The great news is that he lately found a good host and started his own website where he's posting releases on a weekly basis with an rss feed available.
*Update: The site has moved so I updated the links.

They've done it again! "In parallel efforts, hackers in both the Xboxhacker and Doom9 forums have exposed the "Volume ID" for discs played on XBOX 360 HD DVD drives. Xbox360 hacking.

OK, so after the teaser we got on 31/12/06 and the release of the Hypervisor Vulnerability that uses the game King Kong, I am starting to believe in it. Lately we've been hearing about emulators that run on dev kits and might work on hacked retail boxes and a possible Linux loader pretty soon.
This reminds me a lot of the first Xbox with the Mechassault/Splinter cell exploits. Let's hope we get full kernel access on the newer version 4552 so those of us who updated through xboxlive can have some homebrew action or maybe even alternative dashboards. XBMC-HD anyone?
The xbox 360 has a lot more power than the original, I can only imagine what can be done when it's fully harnessed. We just have to be patient i guess.
